Sermon 6


When you were advised not to follow Talha and Zubair and not to fight them, you said:


By God, I will not be like a bird that sleeps because of constant knocking. Until its hunter reaches it and the one who is lying in wait suddenly overpowers it. Rather, I will continue to wield my sword against those who move towards the truth and those who obey the voice in their ears and those who fall into error and doubt until the day of my death comes. By God! Ever since Allah raised His Messenger from the world, others have been given precedence over me and I have been deprived of my right.

 خطبه 6


جب آپ کو یہ مشورہ دیا گیا کہ آپ طلحہ وزبیر کا پیچھا نہ کریں اور ان سے جنگ کرنے کی نہ ٹھان لیں تو آپ نے فرمایا۔


خدا کی قسم میں اس بجو کی طرح نہ ہوں گا جو لگاتار کھٹکھٹائے جانے سے سوتا ہوا بن جاتا ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ اس کا طلبگار ( شکاری) اس تک پہنچ جاتا ہے اور گھات لگا کر بیٹھنے والا اس پر اچانک قابو پالیتا ہے۔بلکہ میں تو حق کی طرف بڑھنے والوں اور گوش پر آواز اطاعت شعاروں کو لے کر ان خطاؤ شک میں پڑنے والوں پر اپنی تلوار چلاتا رہوں گا یہاں تک کہ میری موت کا دن آ جائے ۔ خدا کی قسم ! جب سے اللہ نے اپنے رسول کو دنیا سے اٹھایا برابر دوسروں کو مجھ پر مقدم کیا گیا اور مجھے میرے حق سے محروم رکھا گیا۔
